1. The Account Is Private (#1 Cause)
Symptom: "private or needs login" error. Fix: none exists — follow the account and ask the owner to share the video, or ask them to make that post's audience public. Any site promising private-account downloads is lying.
2. It's a Photo Post, Not a Video
Symptom: "no downloadable video found." Fix: check the post — single photos and photo carousels contain no video stream. Only reels, video posts, and TV videos have one. The play icon on the thumbnail tells you before you even copy the link.
3. Truncated or Edited Link
Symptom: "doesn't look like an Instagram link." Fix: re-copy via Share → Copy Link. Keep the full URL including the shortcode (the random middle part like /reel/C8xK2mQ/) — that's the only part that matters, but deleting characters around it breaks parsing.
4. Free Limit (5/day) Is Used Up
Symptom: worked earlier, "limit reached" now. Fix: wait for tomorrow's reset or go Pro for unlimited + batch.
5. The Post Was Deleted or Archived
Symptom: "post not found." Fix: open it in Instagram — "Sorry, this page isn't available" there means it's gone for everyone. Creators archive posts often; ask them to unarchive if it matters.
6. Some Tool Wants Your Instagram Login
Plain advice: never. Downloaders work off public data and need zero access to your account. Handing over your login (or an SMS code) is how accounts get stolen and turned into spam bots. Our tool never asks — free or Pro.
🚨 Worth repeating
Enable two-factor authentication on your Instagram regardless. Then no stolen password alone can ever open your account.
FAQ
Q: Stories and highlights — can I download those?
Not with this tool — it covers reels, posts, and TV. Stories expire and need the viewer logged in, which breaks the no-login design.
Q: Download stops halfway?
Connection broke mid-stream. Retry on stable WiFi; longer videos are more sensitive to drops.
